Day One: US Departure
Day Two: Shanghai
Shanghai - arrival and evening at leisure.
Day Three: Shanghai
Shanghai - China's most vibrant and westernized city. See the Children's
Palace, the Yu Yuan Gardnes, the Jade Buddha's Temple the Bund and
Shanghai Arts and Crafts Exhibition Center and if time permits an
agricultural commune.
Day Four: Shanghai - Suzhou
Suzhou - described by Marco Polo as the "gardens of delights with
six thousand bridges of stone." Enjoy our
tour and cruise along the 1400 year old Grand Canal.

Day Five: Suzhou - Fly to Beijing
Suzhou - see one of the city's famous gardens and the National Embroidery
Institute before flying to Beijing.
Day Six: Beijing
Beijing - capital of the Mongols, the Ming and the Manchu dynasties
and of modern China. See the Imperial Palace, Tian An Men Square
and the Summer Palace and enjoy our special Beijing Duck Banquet.
Day Seven: Beijing - Great Wall of China - Beijing
Great Wall of China - almost 5500 miles of wall, trenches and natural
barriers protected China's northern boundary from nomadic invasions.
Close to Beijing are the most dramatic and best preserved sections
of the Great Wall from the Ming period.
Day Eight: Beijing
Beijing - sightseeing continues with the Lufthansa Center and the Temple
of Heaven.
Day Nine: Beijing - Fly to Xi'an
Xi'an - capital during the glory days of the Tang Dynasty
Day Ten: Xi'an
Xi'an - see the Terracotta Warriors, 6000 soldiers and horses who have
guarded the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi for 2000 years, Bampo
Village which dates back to the Neolithic Age, the Dayan Pagoda and
the famous Wild Goose Pagoda.
Day Eleven: Xi'an - Fly to Guilin
Guilin - set in an incomparable karst landscape of jutting, mist-caressed
peaks marching in ghostly procession beside the lazy Li River.

Day Twelve: Guilin
Guilin - day-long cruise on the meandering river with vignettes of
old villages and pastoral life glimpsed through stands of feathery
bamboo. Secluded valleys between the peaks can be viewed from atop
Piled Silk Hill and in subterranean chambers, the lacework pattern
of stalactites and stalagmites is illuminated by colored lights.
Day Thirteen: Guilin - Fly to Guangzhou
Guangzhou - formerly known as Canton and the southern gateway to China.
See the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, Shishi Sacred Heart Cathedral
and Huaisheng Mosque.
Day Fourteen: Guangzhou - Hong Kong by Catamaran
Hong Kong - for 156 years under British colonial rule and given back
to China in 1997, this is where 'East meets West'.
Day Fifteen: Hong Kong
Hong Kong - visit Victoria Peak for a panoramic view of the city and
outlying islands; the splendid beaches of Repulse Bay and Deep Water
Bay; the district of Aberdeen, famous for its floating restaurants
and fishing village, where thousands of people live aboard junks
and sampans.
