the Scott Monument; stroll Princes Street, Grassmarket and the Royal
Mile; hear the stories of Mary Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie,
Greyfriars Bobby, Robert Burns.

Day Three: Edinburgh - Lake District (Keswick) - York
Lake District - northern England's most beautiful scenery
Keswick - quaint market town close to Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite

Day Four: York
York - where Roman, Viking and medieval history converge. See York
Minster, the Jorvik Museum, the National Railway museum, stroll the
Shambles and the maze of quaint cobbled streets, or walk the medieval
city walls.
Day Five: York - Castle Howard - Chester
Castle Howard - architectural masterpiece of John Vanbrugh, home of
the Howard Family, the finest historic house and stately home in
northern England and one of just ten on the list of Treasure Houses
of England.
Chester - where 2000 years of history stretch back to the Romans. See
Chester Cathedral, the distinctive black and white Tudor architecture,
walk Chester Walls and follow the Roman roads.
Day Six: Chester - Snowdonia National Park in Wales - Chester
Bodnant Gardens - exotic gardens covering 80 acres with plants, trees
and shrubs from all over the world.
Snowdonia National Park - experience the stunning scenery of some of
Britain's wildest landscapes.
Llangollen - where the International Music Eisteddford has hosted singing
stars from all over world, including the late, great Pavarotti.
Day Seven: Chester - Warwick Castle - Stratford-upon-Avon
Warwick Castle - where 1100 years of living history unfold at England's
ultimate in medieval fortresses.
Stratford-upon-Avon - home of William Shakespeare, England's national
poet and playwright known as the Bard of Avon. See his birthplace,
Mary Arden's House, Anne Hathaway's Cottage and Shakespeare's grave
in the Holy Trinity Church.
Day Eight: Stratford-upon-Avon - Oxford - Cotswolds - Bath
Oxford - the 'City of Dreaming Spires', which is home to England's
elite university, the oldest English-speaking university in the world.
Cotswolds - quintessentially English countryside with the quaint, medieval
market town Stow-on-the Wold.

Day Nine: Bath - Stonehenge - Salisbury - London
Bath - where the ruins of Roman Britain are in stark contrast with
the elegant Georgian city of today. See the ruins of the Roman Baths.
Stonehenge - the iconic stone circle, which
is one of the world's most famous monuments.
Salisbury - where the Cathedral represents the climax of English Gothic
architecture.
Days Ten and Eleven: London
London - the British capital, seat of government and royal residence
is the most visited city in the world. Small wonder with so much
to see - Westminster Abbey with the tombs of kings, queens and heroes;
the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben; Buckingham Palace and the
Changing of the Guard; the Tower of London with the Crown Jewels;
St. Paul's Cathedral, Whitehall, Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar
Square. Enjoy theater, shopping at Harrods or just strolling through
Hyde Park or Kew Gardens.
Day Twelve: London - Canterbury - London
Canterbury - Mother Church of the Anglican faith and ecclesiastical
capital of England, where the magnificent Cathedral has dominated
the skyline since it was founded by St. Augustine 1400 years ago.
Day Thirteen: London - USA
